Window tint FAQs

Clear answers to the questions customers ask us most.

How is window tint installed?
Our technicians clean and prepare each window, precisely cut the film for your vehicle, and professionally apply it for a smooth, clean finish.
Do you tint windshields?
Yes. Windshield tint options are available to help reduce glare and heat. The film and coverage must comply with applicable Illinois tint laws.
What tint shades are available?
We offer several tint shades. Tint percentage indicates how much visible light passes through the window—the lower the percentage, the darker the appearance. We’ll help you choose an appropriate shade for your vehicle.
Do you remove old window tint?
Yes. Existing tint can be removed before installing new film. Removal requires additional labor and is priced separately depending on the film’s condition.
How long does installation take?
Completion time depends on the vehicle, the number of windows, and whether old tint must be removed. We’ll provide an estimated completion time when scheduling.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended so we can reserve enough time for your vehicle. Call or text PH.D Electronics to check availability.
What are the legal limits?
Tint laws vary depending on the vehicle and window location. We’ll explain the available options and applicable Illinois requirements before installation.
Are bubbles or haze normal?
Some light haze, moisture pockets, or small bubbles may appear while the film is curing and should improve over time. Avoid rolling the windows down until instructed.
What does the warranty cover?
Coverage depends on the tint package and film selected. We’ll explain the applicable manufacturer and installation warranty before your purchase.
